Primeval Recap - Episode 1.1

Anomaly: Forest of Dean, UK leading to the Late Permian era
Creatures: Gorgonopsid, Multiple Coelurosauravus including "Rex", Scutosaurus, ammonite.

Story Notes:

Helen Cutter is chased through an ASDA car park by a ferocious Gorgonopsid, she escapes through the forest of dean.

Eight years later, Cutter and Stephen arrive at the university, Connor Temple greets Cutter and later interests him in possible monster sightings in the forest of dean and it is revealed that Cutter's wife disappeared there eight years ago. Once there they find convincing evidence of a large creature but are still a little skeptical.

Meanwhile, Abby Maitland is introduced at her workplace "wellington Zoo" she sees pictures of Rex, is instantly interested and goes to pick him up. Rex's owner, a boy called Ben, shows Abby where he found him and they come across the dead cattle in a tree.

In a hotel nearby, Claudia brown is introduced. She approaches Cutter and kisses him in order to deter a randomer from talking to her. She is interested in proving that there are no monsters and Cutter invited her to join the search.

Ben and Abby are separated, Ben finds the anomaly, sees the Permian era and a flock of coelurosauravus. Abby, trying to get to Rex who has hidden in some trees, sees the gorgonopsid but it does not attack. Ben makes it home but the creature follows and attacks him through his bedroom window. Only to be scared off by an electric ball.

Abby is left alone in the dark forest and comes across the scutosaurus as well as bumping into Cutter and company. She shows her intelligence with animals by advising the group to stay in its field of vision. Later they chase the Scutosaurus to the place that it feels safe and find the anomaly.

In the morning, Captain Tom Ryan (although unnamed) arrives with other soldiers to guard the anomaly.

At the home office, James Lester is introduced, he discusses the anomalies and their associated risks. Lester, Abby, Claudia and Cutter watch as people examine Rex and try to catch him when he escapes, during which Abby and Rex bond. Lester allows Cutter to explore the Anomaly and search for his wife.

Meanwhile Connor and Stephen calculate the anomalies era and what the deadly creature is. The Gorgonopsid tracks Ben to his school and attacks, Stephen finds it and it chases him, it knocks him out but runs away.

Captain Tom Ryan (now named) and Cutter travel through the anomaly, they find a trace of people and a skeleton. Cutter thinks its his wife but soon discovers its a male. After refusing to go back through the anomaly, Captain Ryan conks him on the back of the head but Cutter is adamant that he wants to stay until the last minute and they both come back through the anomaly.

With the anomaly shut, the Gorgonopsid is still loose, it attacks the group at the anomaly sight but is stopped by Stephen in his big car. Although its still not dead, and Stephen is forced to shot it to death.

Later, Cutter finds a strange ammonite on his desk, he chases the intruder in his house and sees his wife Helen in the distance.
